That’s why we have launched our Food Saver, a simple and supportive way to build savings with a little extra reward at the end. The Food Saver is designed exclusively for Acorn members who are also part of a participating Food Club or Pantry. It helps you build a savings habit while being rewarded for your efforts.

The table shows the bonus pay-out at the end of the Food Saver term of 3 months. The below bonus is based on regular payments of the stated amount per month and no withdrawals until bonus is paid. Deposits must occur over three consecutive months . The bonus paid is a fixed amount of £15 matching the savings commitments to all qualifying accounts.

  • Terms & Conditions

    Only available to members of Acorn Community Bank & a participating food collective.

    Regular fixed deposits have to be made over 3 months. No withdrawals allowed.

    If withdrawal is requested account will be closed.

    A member who currently has a loan in arrears is not eligible to open a Food Saver.

    Only one account can be opened per member throughout their membership.

  • Product Features

    Available to all Acorn members 18 years and over, who are also members with a participating Food Collective.

    Account can be opened by completing a form or can be requested in branch / over call / email.

    Account can be managed via our online Acorn App.

    All savings are protected under the FSCS scheme.

    Bonus will be paid by the 10th of the 4th month to all qualifying accounts.

  • Product Information

    Account requires regular fixed deposits of £5 per month for consecutive 3 months.

    Deposits can be made via standing order, bank transfer or benefits deductions.

    No withdrawals are allowed during the account term. Bonus will be forfeited in the event of a withdrawal.

    Bonus will be paid to all eligible accounts and the balance will be transferred to your shares account and the Food Saver will be closed.

To make a deposit into your Food Saver, simply set up a standing order or make a bank transfer. If your CHB comes directly to us, you can request deductions from there directly via email. Below are the details you will need:
