Product Information
- Available to all ACORN members who are also members of the Food Club and are 18 years old and above.
- Deposits into the account will have to be made by a standing order, bank transfer or CHB deductions or cash deposits.
- £15 bonus will be paid into the Food Saver by 10th of the following 4th month to all qualifying accounts.
- Access to the account is available through online banking app.
- All Savings are protected under the FSCS scheme
Features
- Members have to deposit a fixed amount of £5 per month, regularly for three consecutive months.
- No Withdrawals are allowed. Bonus will be forfeited in the event of a withdrawal.
- For qualifying members the account will be closed, and all balances will be transferred to your main shares account by the 10th of the following fourth month.
- Members can open a food saver only once during their Acorn membership.
T & C’s
- Only available to members of Acorn Community Bank and the Food Club.
- Regular fixed deposits have to be made per month consecutively for five months. No withdrawals are allowed to be eligible for the bonus pay-out.
- Account will be closed if withdrawals are requested and funds will be transferred to your main shares account.
- A member who currently has a loan in arrears, is not eligible to open the Food Saver.
- Last date to open a Food Saver is 20th of January 2024.
The Food Saver is offered in collaboration with the food clubs and is funded by the England Illegal Money Lending Team (IMLT). The money you receive as bonus has been recovered from the illegal activities of loan sharks, who create debt misery for many people in our communities.
