We’re thrilled to announce an exciting milestone! Connection Credit Union is merging with Acorn Community Bank from 1st May 2025! This means a stronger, more secure future for our members, with expanded benefits and enhanced services. Together, we are building a community-focused credit union that offers more opportunities, greater resources, and improved member support.

We are working hard behind the scenes to ensure a smooth transition for you. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Merger Date: May 1st 2025.
  • Welcome Letter : May 7th, with details of new membership number and online login links.
  • No immediate Action required : Your accounts and services will be moved over automatically.
  • New member Benefits: Access to online banking and Family & friends referral scheme.

✅ If your family/dependants live outside these areas (e.g., university students), they can simply email our office team, quote your name and membership number, and we’ll walk them through the process step by step.

Will my account information be transferred to Acorn Community Bank?

Yes, your account information will be automatically transferred -no action required on your part.

Do I need to update my details or re-register my account?

No re-registration is necessary. Acorn will send you a new membership number and login details for online banking. Please ensure your phone number and email address are updated.

How will I log in to my new online account?

You will receive new online banking details, and tutorial videos will be available for assistance.

Can I invite Family and Friends to join Acorn?

Yes! Your partner, dependents, and friends can become members:

✅ If they live in Wiltshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, or Oxfordshire, they can join online instantly.
✅ If you have your family/dependents living outside our common bond (e.g., university students), they can email us with your name and membership number, and our team will assist them step by step.

How can I access my Acorn Community Bank account online?

You will receive a welcome letter with your new membership number and online login details. To download our app, visit here and follow the instructions.

What features are available through the app? 

  •  View balances of shares, savings, and loan accounts.
  • Transfer funds between Acorn accounts.
  • Request withdrawals (processed the same day if requested before 1:00 pm).
  • Apply for loans easily through the app

What should I do if I forget my PIN?

Use the “Reset your PIN” feature in the member’s area or mobile app. A new PIN will be sent to your registered email.

How do I update my email address and personal details?

You can request to update your details by contacting our admin team.

Can I get support to use the online services?

You can contact our friendly admin team here.

Will there be changes to customer service contact details? Yes, from May 1st, 2025, our new contact details will be as listed here.

What are the new opening times for the merged bank? Our office hours are listed below:

  • Monday & Wednesday: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Closed on bank holidays
  • Phone and email support: Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Will there be new branches / offices after the merger? Yes, in addition to our Credit Union office on TE Site H, we have 4 collection points in Swindon. See them here.
